This blog post is a little different than what we usually share - but I've been looking forward to blogging these photos ever since the first session we did. So, be prepared for a lot of photos...I just couldn't help myself!
First though, here's a little background about all these awesome kids you're about to see.
These kids are all part of the Rock and Roll Institute here in Rockford. It's a summer camp put on by local musicians and is seriously cool. The kids show up on Monday and form bands, who then perform together that Friday night. There's obviously a lot of band practice happening, but they also do lessons for their individual instruments in the mornings. It's such a great thing happening in our community and we were so happy to be a small part of it this year! If you have a kid who would love to have this experience, or if you'd be interested in being a sponsor for the camp next year sure make sure you check out their website (click here)!
There's three different sets of photos we're sharing today so you can get a feel for how the whole camp works! First up is a day at camp, we were there while all the bands were practicing. Second, is the Friday night show at the Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center. And the third set is one of the "tour dates" they had at Culture Shock (an awesome shop in Rockford).
Here's a look at these crazy talented kids!
